Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train (Japanese: 劇場版「鬼滅の刃」 無限列車編, Hepburn: Gekijō-ban "Kimetsu no Yaiba" Mugen Ressha-hen), also known as Demon Slayer: Mugen Train or Demon Slayer: Infinity Train, is a 2020 Japanese animated dark fantasy action film[3][4] based on the shōnen manga series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba by Koyoharu Gotouge. The film, which is a direct sequel to the first season of the anime series, was directed by Haruo Sotozaki and written by Ufotable staff members. The film was produced by Ufotable in association with Aniplex and Shueisha.

Demon Slayer Mugen Train Plot

Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke board a train to assist the Flame Hashira Kyōjurō Rengoku in his mission to hunt for a demon that has killed many Demon Slayers. Soon after boarding, all of them are enchanted and fall into a deep sleep. Enmu, Lower Rank One of the Twelve Kizuki, instructs four passengers, all suffering from severe insomnia, to enter the Demon Slayers' dreams and destroy their spiritual cores so that they can't wake up again. In exchange, Enmu will allow them a peaceful sleep.

During their sleep, Tanjiro and his companions have happy dreams. Tanjiro realizes that he is dreaming and tries to wake up, succeeding after a vision of his father instructs him to kill himself in the dream. At the same time, Nezuko uses her power to sever the intruders' connection, and awaken the passengers. In fear of Enmu, they attack Tanjiro, who knocks them out.

While Nezuko awakens the others, Tanjiro confronts Enmu, and in the ensuing battle, beheads him. However, Enmu does not die, and reveals that he fused his head with the train. Kyōjurō instructs Inosuke and Tanjiro to look for Enmu's neck while he, Nezuko, and Zenitsu stay behind to protect the other passengers. Tanjiro and Inosuke find Enmu's neckbone in the engine room and Tanjiro severs it, killing Enmu and stopping the train.

However, Akaza, the Upper Moon Three, appears soon after and attacks the Demon Slayers. Kyōjurō fights him alone, and is fatally wounded, although Akaza is forced to flee when the sun begins rising. Tanjiro angrily calls him a coward for running away and declares Kyōjurō the winner of the fight. Kyōjurō encourages Tanjiro and his friends, and dies. The Hashira and Demon Slayer Corps are informed of his death, while Tanjiro and the others mourn him.

Demon Slayer Mugen Train Review

While I am not a die-hard anime fan, I’ve only seen a handful of the most well-known series over the years (Attack on Titan! One Punch Man! SAO!), Demon Slayer has been my absolute favorite offering I’ve watched, and I was excited to finally see the movie interlude between seasons 1 and 2. One which also happened to be a box office blockbuster no one was expecting to reach that level.

The two hour Mugen Train does sort of feel like 4-5 episodes of the main series smashed together. It’s easy to see the “phases” of the film. The intro and initial demon fight, the dream sequences, the Lower 1 fight and the Upper 3 fight. Each could have been their own episode, but hey, why not just turn them into a movie that makes a half billion dollars?

I enjoyed the second half of the film more than the first, though there is a small bit of set-up for character history told in the dream sequences. We get to see Tanjiro tempted by a life where his family is still alive and he didn’t fail to save them. We see Zenitsu frolicking with Nezuko, his ultimate fantasy. We see Inosuke commanding his friends as…half beast animals? Sure why not.

The most important addition to the cast is Flame Hashira Rengoku, a relentlessly positive and brave warrior, one of the most powerful Demon Slayers in existence. We’ve only glimpsed him before, but now he’s on the train to stop a rash of demon attacks, and guess what? There are a lot of demon attacks.

The battle was epic, and reminded me of some of Dragonball Z’s best fights, given that Upper 3 mainly uses martial arts. The sheer power of Upper 3 against probably one of the most powerful Demon Slayers in the world was something to behold, and I thought for a half second maybe Rengoku would take him up on his offer to become a demon. He didn’t, but I wonder who else might be tempted in the future...

Rengoku’s fight and death will remain one of the most significant moments we’ve seen from the series so far, and this served as a good interlude between seasons 1 and 2, the second of which I believe should arrive later this year. Any fan should watch this movie, but I think any fan would already know that.

 दो घंटे की मुगेन ट्रेन ऐसा महसूस करती है जैसे मुख्य श्रृंखला के 4-5 एपिसोड एक साथ तोड़े गए हों।  फिल्म के "चरणों" को देखना आसान है।  परिचय और प्रारंभिक दानव लड़ाई, स्वप्न दृश्य, निचला 1 लड़ाई और ऊपरी 3 लड़ाई।  प्रत्येक का अपना एपिसोड हो सकता था, लेकिन हे, क्यों न सिर्फ उन्हें एक ऐसी फिल्म में बदल दिया जाए जो आधा बिलियन डॉलर कमाती है?

 मैंने पहले की तुलना में फिल्म के दूसरे भाग का अधिक आनंद लिया, हालांकि स्वप्न दृश्यों में बताए गए चरित्र इतिहास के लिए थोड़ा सा सेट-अप है।  हमें तंजीरो को एक ऐसे जीवन से लुभाते हुए देखने को मिलता है जहाँ उसका परिवार अभी भी जीवित है और वह उन्हें बचाने में असफल नहीं हुआ।…
